How a pylon sign is different from a monument sign

Pylon and monument signs are very similar in that they are both located away from your main building and placed at the entrance to your property or along the road so that customers can find you more easily. The major difference between the two is that pylon signs are much higher.

Depending on the by-laws in your area, you may be restricted as to the height of a sign that you are allowed to put up. This could be a big factor in determining whether you choose a pylon or monument sign. Monument signs are usually about 5 feet high and are designed to display your message at eye level and to blend in nicely with your surrounding landscape.
